What does this Buyer - Homeware role involve?
Responsible for communication direct with factories and suppliers in UK, Europe and Asia.
Taking full responsibility for developing existing and new product innovation, competitor research and product packaging and labelling.
Liaising directly with suppliers globally to develop products from concept through to end delivery.
Collecting product information and sharing it with relevant departments to ensure products are ready for sale.
Managing the critical path of all new products that are in development, including any supplier meetings and new product launches.
Coordinating with the stock controller and marketing in relation to creating promotion and stock planning.
What qualities will you need to be successful in this Buyer - Homeware role?
Be in a buying or category management role with UK retail business
You will need to have experience in homewares or furniture
A keen eye for product innovations, excellent attention to detail and a natural talent for spotting opportunities and current market trends
Ability to plan and organise workload effectively and be able to work under pressure to tight deadlines
Negotiate and build lasting relationships based on your strategy and vision for your category
You may also have previous titles including Buyer, Assistant Buyer or Category Manager.
