Are you an experienced Housing Professional, looking for a new challenge? We are searching for an experienced Neighbourhood Officer on a 6 month fixed term contract to join our team, sharing our vision of delivering better homes and friendlier communities.

Watford Community Housing owns and manages 5000 homes across South-West Hertfordshire, with a focus on providing much-needed homes for lower-income households. This role is pivotal to delivering a high standard of customer service to a diverse customer base and properties of mixed tenure. In this role you will work closely with colleagues in other teams in the delivery of a cross function patch, community based service. You will be responsible for a designated neighbourhood, delivering tenancy/housing management services and meeting monthly operational targets.

Duties Include:

  • Delivering housing management services to customers, responding to their needs and actively seeking feedback.

  • Working with our internal and external stakeholders, forging meaningful partnerships. Signposting customers to key internal and external partner services for advice/support/advocacy, as well as tenancy support referrals.

  • Delivering the lettings process from pre-tenancy void through to letting stage, in close liaison with Senior Housing Options Officer.

  • Proactively managing potential breaches of tenure with customers and partners, and responding to any serious breaches in line with standards, policies and procedures.

  • Conducting Estate and Fire Risk Inspections, working closely with the Estates and Contracts team.

About You

  • Experience of delivering tenancy/housing management services to a high standard and in a customer-focussed manner.

  • Experience of working with a diverse, often vulnerable customer caseload to provide effective support and advice.

  • Able to engage effectively with a diverse audience using a diverse range of communication tools.

  • Maintain a full driving licence with business insurance cover, and access to a car.

  • Maintain a satisfactory basic level Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
