Nationwide (travel to multiple sites across the UK, working in London and from home)

My client are looking for an IT Service Delivery Manager who can work with academies or projects that require direct interventions to raise levels of service performance or support academies with exceptional challenges.
Due to the size of this organisation there will be national travel involved (including some overnight stays), please only apply if you are happy to travel and have a clean licence and your own car.
The IT Service Manager Role:
The role will understand the unique challenges faced by academies and their communities and ensure that the IT directorate supports the educational objectives. Through the matrix management of technical teams, the manager will ensure the swift resolution of technical issues and delivery of internal projects whilst building relationships with academy leadership teams. The manager will work for intense periods with several sites across the country having measurable impact on those sites.
The key attributes of the role are:
To take responsibility for the delivery of service into an academy often at short notice for a short intense period of time.
To develop and manage intensive support process for academies.
To develop and manage a communications policy, developing standard templates for all methods of communication within the directorate.
Produce Service Improvement plans for academies where necessary managing the projects associated with the plan to the resolution of the challenges identified.
Work with academies under the pressures associated with making rapid progress in the context of tight deadlines, budgetary constraints and educational challenge.
Ensure that IT provision is tailored to address the challenges and needs of the academy working alongside the Business Relationship Manager
To build strong relationships with senior leaders, both central and at the academies.
To monitor and manage service desk call queues for assigned sites and to matrix manage on-site technical teams and those delivering projects into academies.
The IT Service Manager Candidate:
Will have Service Delivery or Management experience and experience of working in an education setting demonstrating understanding of challenges.
ITIL Foundation / Intermediate / Expert and Prince2 Foundation / Practitioners preferred.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Server and desktop Operating Systems, Microsoft Server and desktop applications is essential. Knowledge of any of the following Microsoft technologies; DPM, SharePoint, IIS, WSUS, Azure, Group Policy, Hyper-V, Server.
Ability to write clear, accurate technical documents.
